Can a motorcyclist who wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the accident still pursue an accident claim to seek compensation for injuries in North Carolina?

Not wearing a helmet can complicate a claim due to North Carolina’s contributory negligence law. If it’s determined that not wearing a helmet contributed to the injuries, it might reduce or eliminate your ability to pursue compensation. However, this does not automatically bar recovery, especially if the head injury would have occurred regardless of helmet use.
