What is alienation of affection in North Carolina?
July 29, 2024 – Eric Richardson
Alienation of affection is a civil action or lawsuit against a third party whom the plaintiff believes is responsible for the breakdown of their marriage. North Carolina differs from many states in that it still allows spouses to sue third parties for interference in a marriage (Alienation of Affection) or for having sexual intercourse with one’s spouse (Criminal Conversation) that led to the breakdown of the marriage.
